APPLICATION AND SCHEDULE INFORMATION:
  • Category finalists will be notified via email prior to the General Meeting on September 19th.
  • Finalists will have an opportunity for a three-minute presentation of their project after the General Meeting on September 19th. Please note, this presentation is optional and will not be part of the scoring process.
  • Category winners will be notified via email prior to the Annual Meeting.
  • Winners will be presented their plaque and the “Best Overall Project” will be announced at the Annual Meeting.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
  • Creativity of structural design (20%)
  • Complexity of criteria or unique problems (20%)
  • Innovative application of new or existing materials or techniques (20%)
  • Commitment to sustainability through efficient use of materials, resilience, circular economy principles, or embodied carbon reduction (20%)
  • Ingenuity of design for constructability challenges and efficient use of labor (20%)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Certificate of Occupancy must be issued between January 1, 2023 – July 26, 2024.
  • Stamping engineer must be a SEAC member.
  • Emphasis will be given to Colorado projects in the case of a tie.
  • Emphasis will not be given to project size.
  • Each firm can only win one award.
  • SEAC Board of Directors will pick up to three finalists in each category.
  • SEAC leadership will vote on category winners; SEAC leadership includes the Board of Directors, committee chairs and vice-chairs, delegates, and ambassadors.
  • SEAC Board of Directors will select “Best Overall Project”.
 
INFORMATION REQURIED FOR APPLICATION:
  • Project overview, including project name, project completion date (date CO issued), location of project, and project category.
  • Project cost (for ease of submission to NCSEA SEE awards)
  • 4 – 10 project photos with photographer release
  • Project Description (800 word maximum) that outlines the significant aspects of the entry and their relationship to the judging criteria.
  • Sustainability Description (300 word maximum) that describes the sustainable aspects of the project -- both structural and nonstructural.
  • Project Summary (100 word maximum) that highlights the structural aspects of the project. For all category winners, this information would be used in SEAC social media posts.
  • Project team information, including Structural design firm, stamping structural engineer, architect, general contractor, and submitter contact information.
