NOCO Committee February Meeting
2/21/2019 - 2/21/2019

Event Description
Please join us on Thursday, February 21st from 7:30 to 9:00am at CPP’s new wind tunnel laboratory at 7365 Greendale Road, Windsor, CO 80550. Dr. Roy Denoon will give a short presentation about some of the changes in the wind engineering provisions of ASCE7-16 from ASCE7-10 before touring the wind tunnel facilities. Attendees will have the opportunity to see behind the scenes of the world’s newest boundary layer wind tunnels and learn about the key elements of their design, and the use of cross-laminated timber in their construction. The types of wind tunnel studies conducted, from wind-induced loads on buildings and structures to pedestrian comfort, will be demonstrated with wind tunnel models and the actual instrumentation used in the testing. This will be one of the first tours of the new facility since it entered operation in late December and a chance for local SEAC members to experience the latest generation of wind engineering technology right here in Northern Colorado.
