Join us for a lively discussion on how the geotechnical and structural engineering professions can work together for more effective project management. Some of the items that will be discussed are:
  • What information is most helpful in an RFP for a geotechnical engineer?
  • What information is most useful in a Geotech proposal?
    • Should the proposal suggest alternatives? (ground improvement/micropiles)
  • How does the process change when it is owner driven vs architect driven?
  • Expansive soils - when it is appropriate to over-excavate?
  • Perimeter drains
  • Inspections
  • How does design-build change the process? (GT documentation)
